The Makati City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (Makati DRRMO) is a dedicated government agency committed to safeguarding the lives and property of Makati City residents. We strive to create a resilient city capable of withstanding the challenges posed by natural and man-made hazards and climate change.
Our mission is to build a safer, more secure, and climate-resilient Makati through effective planning, preparedness, response, and recovery efforts. We work tirelessly to minimize the impact of disasters by implementing comprehensive risk reduction strategies. By fostering strong partnerships with various stakeholders, including government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector, the DRRMO ensures a coordinated approach to disaster and climate resilience.
We are committed to continuous improvement and innovation to address emerging challenges and strengthen Makati's resilience. Our battlecry is to make resilience a way of life for all Makatizens. We strive to make Makati a city that is not just prepared, but empowered.
A Legacy of Resilience
Established on 10 May 2012 by City Ordinance No. 2012-037 in compliance with Republic Act No. 10121, the Makati DRRMO merged the pioneering Makati Rescue and the innovative Makati Command, Control, and Communication (Makati C3).
Makati Rescue, established in 1992, was the country's first dedicated rescue team. The Makati C3, established in 2004, was the first local government-run Operations Center in the Philippines. These pioneering efforts laid the foundation for Makati's strong commitment to disaster resilience.
